Daneen's Doodles

ATTENTION EVERYONE:

I have a friend who just created a blog featuring her art work. She is an incredible artist that specializes in Christian art. She is so humble and considers her work "doodling". It is anything but that!! She has been given a gift, and I am so excited that she has made it available for everyone to see. If you are ever in need of a Christian card or want to give a custom gift of art to somebody, she will create the perfect design for you. To check out some of her work, her blog address is:

These pictures were taken with my camera and don't do the artwork justice:

This was a card she gave me for Valentine's Day.

This is a bookmark she created. I think that her lettering is really unique!

You're Great!!!

John took Friday off of work, so he was able to take Sammy to school. This is a huge deal because Sam always asks if his dad can take him. We were driving along when Sam said the cutest thing ever!! He told John, "daddy, when I get to school I am going to wash my hands and then tell all my friends how great you are!" That just melted both our hearts into a puddle of mush. He loves his daddy!!

Samuel

This is the face and attitude that I have been dealing with for the past few weeks from Sam. I am exhausted!! He is going through a really tough stage right now, and although I know that it shall pass, that doesn't really make me feel any better. We are battling over EVERYTHING and since our personalities are quite similar, we totally clash. I have been praying for him, mostly that God would soften and quiet his heart and that He would help him to be obedient to me. I think I am going to start praying more for myself. That God would give me the strength to endure this difficult time with a spirit of love and kindness and that I would (as my husband always tells me) give him more love than he deserves! Maybe I need to let go of some of the control that I place on him and give him some more breathing room. I definitely need to choose my battles better. But, I will not budge on respect and obedience. Those are a must, and of course, those are the biggest problem right now. So...if you think of us, please pray for us!!! We need it.

Converse

All three boys have Converse shoes, and Karen had an excellent idea that I take a picture of them all lined up next to eachother. So...here's the picture- I think it turned out cute!

Photo shoot

We got pictures of the boys done awhile ago but I haven't posted the pictures because I didn't want my mom to see them (they were her Christmas gift). We actually got all of the grand kids, which is 8 little ones to be exact, together and attempted to get a group shot for her. They turned out great even though they wouldn't all sit still and look at the camera at the same time. Our original plan was to go to this great place, Duncan Gardens. I remember doing family pictures there when I was a teenager and the scenery was beautiful. It is actually just somebody's backyard. So we show up the morning of the photo shoot and we cannot find the sign marking the entrance. Hmmm...interesting. We know that this is the place so we continue to look around. After a few minutes of searching, our photographer decides to go into the people's garage that was open and knock on the door. They answer the door and inform us that it was no longer open to the public. Bummer!!! We made do anyways and found this really cool tree with red leaves on the side of the road, and proceeded with the shoot. They turned out great, thanks to an incredibly talented, yet affordable photographer, Michelle. Her blog is www.shebreathestudios.com if you want to check out her work.

A new year!!

I love the start of a new year. The idea of starting over fresh and leaving your old junk behind, is very...oh, I don't know the right word...exciting!! I am not making any resolutions because I never keep them, but I would like to strive to be in God's word more and to try to be content with what the Lord has given me (which is a lot and I am very thankful)! Here's to a new year, everybody!
