buddies

It is so exciting to see the relationship between sam and max. i really thought that sam would be jealous of max and that they would not get along. that is so not the case. sam loves his baby brother and max loves sam. most mornings after they drink their sippy cups of milk, max will crawl over to sam on the couch and will lay on top of him. they will snuggle for a few minutes. these are the just some of the moments that i am so proud to be their mother.



I should also say that john loves max also. he just gets a little over-excited sometimes and won't leave him alone!


The relationship between john and sam is very, should i say, special. it's hard because they are so far apart in age- but it is improving. they are actually playing together and not fighting as much!!! Yay.

disneyland- the happiest place on earth???

We took a trip to disneyland about a month ago- wow was that an experience. We left on a tuesday night from my in-laws house around 6pm and didn't arrive at our hotel until 11:00pm. John and Sam did awesome on the way down, thanks to the dvd player. We were all so excited when we arrived and everyone went to sleep with no problems. We woke up the next morning so excited and made our way to california adventure. The excitment turned to terror as we went to the bug's life movie theater thing. I guess we didn't realize that sammy would freak out when the spiders came down from the ceiling and the big huge grasshopper came out. I don't think that he had ever seen anything like that before and he thought that they were real. He was so scared that he was crying and john had to leave with him. That pretty much ruined the rest of the day because he was so scared to go on any other rides. He did love the brother bear tree house and had so much fun splashing in the water

I was so grateful for that gigi and papa came because they were able to take sam back to our hotel for a nap while we took john to disneyland. it was so nice to be alone with him and do all of the big-boy stuff



After sam woke up from his nap they met us at disneyland and the real fun began!!!This was my most favorite part of the night.



We decided to leave disneyland a little bit early that night because we had a very cranky and hungry little boy.
the next day we were ready to start fresh again and it turned out to be a much better day.


Toon town was so much fun- we even got to meet mickey. John was off having fun with papa riding pirates so he wasn't there to meet him.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was when we went to tom sawyer's island. We have never been there before and the boys had so much fun exploring! they especially loved the caves. John got so excited when he saw the big pile of treasure!

We had a great time but probably won't go back until max is 4 years old.

I would like to give a special thank you to my mom and dad for taking vacation time from work so that you could stay home with max. that was so sweet of you and so helpful. i felt so good knowing that he was in such good hands and didn't have to be stuck in a stroller like he would have been if we took him. love you guys!!

Also, thanks to gigi and papa for going with us. The boys will treasure the memories forever

fireproof

for all of you who have not seen the movie "fireproof" yet, you are missing out and really need to watch it with your spouse. it is such a great reminder of the reasons why we need to put God first in our marriage and all the wonderful blessings that come out of doing that! life changing- seriously!!

rocky

the reason i am starting this blog is so i can document all of the cute and funny things my kids say and do. so here is a funny story that i never want to forget. over christmas break we were playing rock band at a friends house. we were playing to the song "eye of the tiger" from the movie rocky. when we got home that night mikey said "mom, when i get married i want that song played at my wedding". i have never laughed so hard. i'm sure his future wife will not agree- silly boy!

o.k. so for those of you that know john, you know that he isn't the best gift giver... until recently. last night, we had a date night, so i suggested that we go to the doghouse grill for dinner because we had a gift certificate. as we were driving up the the restaurant, there was soooo much traffic because there was an awesome christian concert that was taking place across the street at the savemart center. i was really bummed when i saw the sign because mercy me, jeremy camp, addison road and tenth avenue north was playing and i really wanted to go. but, i knew we couldn't because we had three kids to pick up at my in-laws house and mikey had school the next day. when i saw all of the traffic, i suggested that we try somewhere else because there was NO parking and it looked really busy. but, john was so persistent that we eat there, so i just gave in. while we were eating, he kept looking at his phone and disappearing to the bathroom- i just thought it was stomach trouble because he was in there for awhile. after we finished eating i was really ready to go because it was really cold and loud in there, but he had to use the bathroom...again (little did i know that he was on the phone with the friends we were meeting). at this point i was like- o.k. i will meet you at the car. remember, i was cold. when he met me at the car i started it and began backing out of the stall. he stopped me. he said we can't leave because our good friends jeff and melissa were meeting us there and we were all going to the concert!!! i was so confused. he suprised me and what a great suprise it was- sneaky guy. my wonderful in-laws were taking my kids back to our house and putting them to bed for us. we had such a great time at the concert and the bands were all awesome. isn't my hubby sweet!! i think so :) love you john
